Kevin Erminio has been a part of the Kennesaw State program for two seasons as the Owls' pitching coach. Erminio came to the Kennesaw State coaching staff after spending the 2006 season as the pitching coach at Miami (Ohio) where his staff led the Mid-American Conference in earned run average. The trend continued in 2007, as the Owls led the Atlantic Sun in ERA and strikeouts. In 2008, the Owls posted a 4.60 ERA with 461 strikeouts. Three pitchers were named Atlantic sun Conference Pitcher of the Week in 2008 under Erminio's tutelage. Justin Freeman, Chad Jenkins and Kyle Heckathorn all received Pitcher of the Week awards after outstanding outings. Freeman and Heckathorn also set the KSU D-I record for strikeouts in a game with 13 each. Erminio served as pitching coach at Middle Tennessee State for five seasons (2001-05) where he was a part of two Sun Belt Conference regular season championship teams and one tournament championship squad. During his time at MTSU, three Blue Raider squads that advanced to the NCAA Regionals and his staff led the conference in ERA in 2001 and 2004. Prior to MTSU, Erminio was the picthing coach at Berry College (1999-2000), where he helped his team advance to the regionals. He began his coaching career at Tusculum College (1992-95) as an assistant coach before joining the Clemson University staff as a volunteer assistant in 1996. The Tigers would advance to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska that season. Erminio earned a B.S. in Biology in 1991 from Tusculum, where he was an all-conference shortstop. He has a Master's Degree in Education and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Erminio lives in Acworth, Ga., with his wife Jennifer. The couple has two sons, Ryan and Jack. |
