KENNESAW, Ga. - The Kennesaw State men's basketball team had their season-ending appreciation luncheon for their booster club and support staff on Wednesday afternoon at Los Reyes Mexican Restaurant.

"This event is just how we wanted to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the season," said head coach Tony Ingle as he spoke at the afternoon lunch. "Our boosters, faculty, staff and support staff have done so much top help us throughout this season and the re-classification period that we felt the obligation to show our deepest thanks."

The 90-minute lunch was highlighted by a rousing speech by Ingle who addressed the capacity crowd with stories from the season and also giving an insight to the workings of heading up a growing Division I program in today's competitive athletic climate.

"We just wanted people to know the history and the future of Kennesaw State basketball," added Coach Ingle. "We want our boosters to see what goes on off the court, the training, the recruiting, the studying and the commitment made by the players, coaching staff and support staff as we head into the 2009-10 season."

In addition to Coach Ingle and assistant coaches Greg Matta, Montez Robinson, Chè Roth and Director of Basketball Operations Ron Smith, former players Scott Webb, J.D. Pollock and Kenan Knight, a member of the 2004 NCAA Division II National Championship team, were also on hand.

The meet-and-greet was the final event of the yearlong program Coach Ingle instituted last season. Kennesaw State has had luncheons throughout the year in northeast Georgia and Tennessee. The Owls also hosted an event on Tuesday afternoon in Dalton, Ga.
