Owls Take Fourth At Disney

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Owls, behind senior Scott Burley looked strong again on Saturday, October 11, placing fourth in the Walt Disney World Cross Country Invitational in Orlando, Fla.

Burley placed seventh in the 8k race out of 324 participants, crossing the finish line with a time of 25:44.80. He was followed by Steven Murray in 31st ( 26:27.60) Piotr Witczak in 35th (26:32.70), Travis Holmes in 58th (27:04.60), and Maxwell Ndungu in 64th (27:09.70).

"We were able to follow up a good performance at Auburn with a great team effort today," Burley said. "We have come a long way since the start of the season.

"It is always a great confidence boost when we can go out and succeed as a team, especially with the level of competition we have faced the past two weeks."

The Owls were fourth overall in the meet, out of 38 teams. Windsor University in Ontario, placed first in the event, followed by Florida and Embry-Riddle.

The Owls will return to action when they travel to Chattanooga, Tenn., for one final meet on Saturday, October 18, before they compete in the conference championships on November 1.
