KENNESAW, Ga. - Just three days after playing host to the Second Larry Nelson Collegiate Invitational, the Kennesaw State women's golf team will be back in action beginning Friday at the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate.

"Very excited to be playing in our first SEC event of the spring," said Kennesaw State Head Coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "Although it is a quick turnaround from the Larry Nelson, the team is excited to get to Oxford and prove to themselves that they deserve to be playing in such a great event.

The event, hosted by the University of Mississippi at the 6,132-yard, par-72 Country Club of Oxford, will feature a total of 14 teams including representatives from the Atlantic Sun Conference (KSU and Belmont), the Southeastern Conference (Ole Miss, and Miss. State), the Big 12 Conference (Mizzou) and Conference USA (Memphis, Southern Miss, and Tulane.)

Ashley Aguilera led the Owls to a sixth place finish in the nine-team field at the Larry Nelson, tying for seventh on the strength of a final round 77. It was Aguilera's second top 10 in her last three events, joining her tie for seventh at the James Madison/Eagle Landing Invitational.

Teams will play 18 holes each day during the three-day, 54-hole event set to begin Friday. The first two rounds will start at 7:45 a.m. local time with players going off in tee times. The final round will tee-off at 8 a.m. on Sunday using a shotgun start format. The Owls will begin play at 9:45 on Friday morning.

"I am confident we will have a solid showing at Ole Miss and place well in the deep field," added Brinsmead.

The event will be KSU's last shot at live competition before competing in the team's first-ever Atlantic Sun Conference Championship on April 12-14 in DeLand, Fla.
