Baer Receives All-Region Accolades
Kansas City, Kan. - Senior forward Rachel Baer has received another post-season award, earning 2008 NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division I All-Mid-Atlantic Region Third Team accolades, according to a release made by the NSCAA, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The teams are selected by college coaches from around the United States.
Baer joins Belmont's Jessica Rix who was a Third Team selection in the Southeast Region. Baer is the first KSU player since Katrina Hirsch in 2005 to receive the honor. Baer helped lead the Owls to a second place regular season A-Sun finish and ended the year with a team high 11 goals and 27 points. The Powder Springs, Ga. native also accumulated five assists on the year and was the A-Sun Player-of-the-Week for the week of Oct. 6. Baer was First Team All-Conference and was selected to the A-Sun All-Tournament team. "We are very happy that Rachel has been selected to this talented group," said Associate Head Coach Frank Pitt. "It is well deserved. Rachel was our main threat on offense this year and even we she did not score herself, she either set up her teammates or at the very least created a number scoring opportunities. She will be missed next year!" |
