Prior to Kennesaw
Irizarry is a transfer from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga. While there, as a freshman she was the southern conference champion in the javelin... finished fourth in the hammer... was a member of that won the Southern Conference Championships... was named Southern Conference Freshman of the Year... was an All-Academic. As a sophomore, she finished with a season best 15.m in the weight (indoor track)... finished second in the Javelin and fifth in the hammer (outdoor)... named All-Academic as well as a Scholar Athlete.

Prep Career
While at North Kingston High School in North Kingston, RI, Irizarry finished Third Team All State in the shot put... set a school record in the shot put (34'10.5")... set a school record in the javelin (133'8")... first team All-State and state champion in javelin... finished fourth place at the New England Regionals Championship. While at Harrison High School in Kennesaw, Ga., she finished third as a junior in the shot put at the County Championships... finished third place, as an All American at High School Nationals in Javelin in 2005.
