KENNESAW, Ga. - For the second time this season, Kennesaw State's Mackenzie Howe was honored as the Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week after placing second in the RunFit Invitational in Macon, GA, on Saturday, September 27.

"It is always an honor to be recognized by the conference," Howe said. "We had a great team effort on Saturday. Some of the girls ran their best race of the season.

"The RunFit Invitational served as a great preview to illustrate how we are measuring up against the rest of the Atlantic Sun so far. Now that we have a better idea of the competition we just have to get back to work and prepare for our next race at Auburn."

Howe completed the 5k race with a time of 17:55 to lead the Owls to a second place finish. The award marks the second time this season Howe has received the Runner of the Week honor. It is the fourth of her career.

Howe and the Owls will be back in action when they travel to Alabama to compete in the Auburn University Invitational on October 4.
