Oct. 4, 2008
AUBURN, Ala. - Mackenzie Howe gave the Owls another impressive performance on Saturday, October 4, leading Kennesaw State to a fourteenth place finish at the Tiger Invitational in Auburn, AL. "It was an extremely competitive race today," Howe said. "We have been improving pretty steadily every week. Meets like today, where you are facing some of the best competition from around the country, give us a good standard of where we want to be." Howe placed 28th in the event, running the 5k race with a time of 17:17.47. She was followed by Soibhan Wolcott in 83rd (18:18.70), Caitlin German in 133rd (19:10.49), Kristen Gibson in 137th (19:11.68), and Lorena Jaime in 182nd (20:51.48). "We are exactly where we want to be," Head Coach Stan Sims said. "The ladies ran well. Mackenzie in particular, ran her personal best." Washington dominated the women's race, taking seven of the top ten finishes, to come away with first overall. Twenty three teams competed in the event. The Owls will return to action when they travel to Orlando, FL, to compete in the Walt Disney Classic on Saturday, October 11. Individual Results Team Results |
